With the match about the start you could feel the tension in the air.Knowing this game would be tough the ref took his time
to relay the rules. It started very promising, with a quick goal for Brixton Lions by Scott who was exceptional on the night. Honour Oak didn’t give up and equalized 10 minutes later setting the scene for a tight match. Brixton Lions scored 3 more goals by half time all through Scott while however Honour Oak only managed to pull one back. Anthony beraded his team at half time, although they wern't playing badly they just wernt converting chances. The second half started with a goal from Honour Oak and with it came the belief that they could win it. They rallied and had the Lions defending most of the time. During an Honour Oak attack a reckless high foot challenge from the Lions’ Captain Frank McKenzie led to a caution and a 2 minute sin bin. The game became a lot more aggressive with Honour Oak's Anthony roaring commands to his players and Frank doing the same, it set the scene for an explosive finish. Honour Oak managed to equalize 10 minutes before final whistle through their prolific scorer Charlie who along with Sam, Eliott and Tommy contributed to an incredible game. It actually looked as if Honour Oak would come out on top however the ball broke through to Scott who won the game for the Lions with a last minute goal. As the final whistle was blown the Lions roared. Both teams took part in a simply enthralling game. This match has surely created a rivalry between these two teams for seasons to come. The Lions were waiting on the later kick off between Pro Stars and Cowley to see if they would be crowned Champions. final score 5-4 to Brixton Lions.

The game started with All Stars’ kick off. SEF found themselves defending most of the time against a team with some of the best strikers in the league. Inevitably All Stars scored 2 goals in the first half and SEF showed no signs that they could rally a comeback. Second half wasn’t too different from the first except it was more aggressive. Farouk got on the score sheet and Idu grabbed his second of the game bringing the score to 4-0. SEFs passing game wasn’t pulling together at all All Stars enjoyed some of the free flowing passing they did when they won the title. The second half was a much fast paced affair but there was no real threat on the All Stars goal. Final score 4-0.

A great game which started well and ended even better. This match also had implications for the title after Brixton Lions won their last game it meant that if Pro Stars lost this then the Lions would be champions. The start was exactly what the Lions were looking for with a goal for Cowley in the 3rd minute through Ginger. However a bit of dilly dallying in front of the area led to an equaliser through Michael Kingston who showed great composure to finish well. However it was a short lived leveller, a good move from Cowley resulted in a corner. The set piece was taken brilliantly. Joel’s crossed was met by Ginger who took it on the volley straight into the net. The half time score was 2-1.
The second half was pulsating, a series of counter attacks from both sides really upped the tempo. There were reinforcements for Pro Stars with the arrivals of Amara and Curtis on to the field. This could not folly Cowley though who had a great strategy, playing long balls up to Ginger who had formidable hold up play. Their strategy paid off again hitting Pro Stars on the counter and Ginger finishing with a thunderous long range effort leaving the keeper with no chance which was a close second for goal of the game. Shortly after, a defensive error let in Ginger again for his 4th of the game and seemingly putting the game to bed. Pro Stars rallied at the end and managed to pull one back 5 minutes from time through Michael Dannykiddy which set up a nervy finish. Cowley held on however to win the match 4-3. This loss means that Brixton Lions are crowned Kennington Ballerz League Champions February 2010.

Man of the Match: Ginger – 4 goals could have gotten more it but wasn’t to be. His performance showed why he was such a talisman in their cup winning season.
Goal of the Game: Ginger there were two to chose from but ill go with a great link up with him an Joel. Joel sent in a great cross into Ginger who caught it on the side foot volley skipping passed the keeper.
